This course last ran in 2008-09 - we plan to run it again - we will announce plans here!

Equipping Elders

Effective leadership is vital for the health and welfare of the church of Jesus Christ. A local assembly of believers cannot function in a God-honouring manner unless it has a godly and caring leadership. When church leaders do their work well, the church will be well. The health of a congregation depends largely upon its leaders.

This course is not intended to be the theological training which is so important for leadership (see our Xtend course – another year) but rather deals with practical issues of church life, in a living church setting. It is only open to:
• spiritually mature men to whom the pastoral oversight of a local body of believers has been committed (eg pastors, elders – even if you have numerous years’ experience it will be immensely helpful to you) and
• those who might be involved in such leadership in the future (in this latter case, we will want the support of an existing leader in your church – please apply and we will then discuss this further with you. Existing leaders: please encourage potential leaders to join!).

Wouldn’t it be an added bonus if you could encourage the whole of your eldership (and/or potential elders) to join this course, giving the opportunity of growing and learning together?
